Hey everyone, hope you’ve had a good week! It’s been a bit miserable what with all the rain again huh..but apparently there is some snow due overnight which could be fun! Bar a full on week of studying I don’t really have much news to share, so I’ll crack straight on with this Part 2 blog which is all about parking at Uni.
If you are going to be living at halls for your first year, you may be wondering what the parking situation is there, as halls in Treforest are on campus! You can pay a fee (around £120) for the year, in order to have a car pass so you can get past the barriers and have safe secure parking right by your accommodation block. This is highly recommended if you are planning on bringing your car – all sorts of complications can arise if you try to park it locally. More information on halls of residence is available here.
If you are going to be getting private rented accommodation straight away and not go into halls, then ordinarily you will have a parking space outside your house. You will however have to apply for a permit for your vehicle to be able to use the space, which is free and must be done – plenty of tickets seem to appear if not!
For those of you that live local and plan to drive in every day – at Treforest we have a car park right next to the Uni which I am lead to believe costs £1.20 a day. Pretty affordable huh? But apparently it fills up pretty quick in the morning, so the best thing to do is arrive early, well before your lectures to make sure you secure a place!
If you have any questions about cars and Uni then don’t hesitate to send me a message and ask away!! Cheers guys, J
