Hey guys, hope everyone’s had a cracking week! Mine has been filled with the usual task of working through coursework, but in 3 weeks time I will have completed my 2nd year lectures and handed in most of my coursework so I’m starting to see the light:) I also worked at this week’s applicant open day which went well – I enjoyed having a nice geeky chat with many potential forensics and security students:)
I thought this week I would touch on the topic of money – a big aspect of making uni possible! If you follow this link for the University’s page dedicated to money and bursaries/grants you will be able to find out more about what you might be eligible for.
Bursaries and grants mean that you could potentially receive extra money, and you may not even have to pay it back, so it’s definitely worth a look! There are also course specific funding pages for nurses via the NHS bursary and a social work bursary.
As well as this, if you are a UK student then you can receive loans from Student Finance Wales or Student Finance England. On these websites, it will explain just how to apply for a loan. The loan is essentially a sum of money which helps you cover costs at University, and then after completing University, when you are on a certain sized salary, you must start paying it back.
Even if University life is still a while off for you, it’s worth taking a quick look and getting to grips with how the process works in advance:)
That’s all from me for this week guys – message me if you have any questions via Facebook 🙂 J
