Howdy all! Another week flown by and only 2 mad weeks left until Easter holidays are upon us:) can’t wait is an understatement!! I’ve been backwards and forwards so much between Wales and England so much this term for job interviews, family events and the like – so I’m looking forward to being able to ‘relax’ for a while!
I recently entered a competition on Glamlife – the University’s internal website for current students, with the chance of winning a Windows smartphone and £100 in amazon vouchers. In order to be in with a chance, I had to design the content for a smartphone app for a local law firm! Since one of my jobs is ‘Marketing Manager’ for the toughest world record ever (check it out at www.openribchallenge.com), I felt I should put my marketing skills to use and give it a shot! I’ll hopefully hear in the next few days about the results…and I’ll be sure to post up in next week’s blog the outcome!
Glamlife also has a lot of other things on it apart from just the occasional uni competitions! I recently wrote about Glamlife Marketplace in a previous blog, which is possibly the best part of the website! Through glamlife you also have access to your Uni emails, student services (CV advice, money advice, mock interviews, job advice), timetables for your studies, date terms – all the stuff you might need from time to time.
It also connects you up to blackboard – you may have heard both myself and some of the other ambassadors mention blackboard in our blogs from time to time – it’s the online learning tool which gives you access to all your lecture slides and tutorials, so it’s really useful!
Sorry it’s such a brief blog guys, but things have been pretty hectic these last few days with work – hopefully next week’s blog will be super interesting to make up for it:) if you have a particular subject that you want me to write about then please, pleaseeeeeeeee contact me and let me know! You can reach me at email@example.com and I’d love to hear any suggestions you have, or if you have questions – fire away!! You guys are in charge. That’s all from me then folks! J x
